SOLIDS CONTROL EQUIPMENT BUILT FOR THE TOUGHEST DRILLING ENVIRONMENTS
June 21, 2019 – Houston, TX. To deliver results in the toughest environment, Awilco Drilling PLC has selected Derrick® solids control equipment for their new-build CS60 ECO MW design. This rig is the first of a new generation of high-end, ultra-harsh environment, semi-submersibles designed to meet the harsh challenges of the world’s most extreme seas.
As stated on Awilco’s web site, “The MOSS CS60 ECO MW is a high-end, fully winterized, ice class, harsh-environment, semi-submersible drilling rig. This is a bespoke mid-water rig designed to offer customers best in class safety, environmental and operational performance. Incorporating the very latest in hybrid technology, this rig will deliver significant well cost saving and enhanced operational reliability while reducing our impact on the environment. The CS60 ECO MW is both Norwegian and UK compliant and is predominantly targeted at these two markets, including the Barents Sea and Atlantic Margin.”
Derrick will be supplying Awilco Drilling the following solids control equipment to be included in their drilling package: One (1) Flo-Line Primer II, Five (5) Dual Pool® 626 VETM shakers, and Two (2) Vacu-Flo 1200 Degassers. Offering the highest processing capacity of any comparable shaker, the Derrick Dual Pool 626 VE delivers optimal solids removal, maximum operational efficiency, and reduced environmental impact. This advanced shaker features low noise, minimal transmission of vibration to stationary structures, and vapor extraction to maximize rig crew safety.
